When coating medical devices, the finish must be more than just tough—it must be biocompatible, non-porous, and capable of withstanding repeated sterilization cycles. A client in the medical cart and equipment space came to us for an automation coating production line that could meet these exacting standards. The key was in the preparation and the application environment. We designed a system with an extended, multi-stage stainless steel pretreatment tunnel to guarantee a surgically clean surface. The application booth was a fully enclosed, positive-pressure cleanroom environment to prevent any airborne contaminants from affecting the finish.
